How old are you?
I am twenty.
When did you erupt?
I was one of the first Novas to erupt. It happened
on a British Airways flight from London to New York, I'm sure many of your
readers will remember that day well.
I know I do (link: Day One). What was
it like?
I can honestly say that there are no words to
describe the feelings and sensations I experienced. I remember that all
of the passengers were in danger and I felt that there had to be something
that I could do. The terrorists were clearly intent on harming us and we
had done them no wrong.
Yes, I remember you helped get everyone out
of the plane. Did you gain the powers you have now or did they change at
all?
From what I can tell my powers seem pretty much
the same. The only difference that I can tell is that they are growing
stronger and I have more skill in using them.
How do you like being a member of Team Tomorrow
Beta?
Being a member of T2M Beta is the greatest honor
of my life. I can think of nothing greater than being granted such awesome
powers, except for being given the opportunity to use them to make the
world a better place for all of mankind. In time I hope that we will be
able to make the world a place where starvation, disease and warfare are
nothing more than chapters in the history books.
Wow, that's a big bite. Do you think it'll
happen in your lifetime?
It will only happen if Project Utopia and ordinary
people all work together. Our goal is the betterment of the world. While
we Novas can shoulder the majority of the burden, ours is a labor that
will benefit all and should be shared thus.

Describe your powers in layman's terms.
(with a sheepish grin) Well, the doctors tell
me that I have a much greater strength and endurance than normal people.
I have yet to test my strength to its limits, but I can lift fifty tons
without any great difficulty. My body also seems to be able to channel
kinetic energy and disperse it. I also seem to be far more agile than a
human should be. Oh, did I mention that I can also fly?
No, but I've seen you on TV. :) So, tell me,
I hear it feels like falling, is that true?
I would not say that it feels like falling. It
is more like running without moving your legs. I think about where I want
to go and then I exert myself to get there.
Did you have any particular physical gifts
before erupting? Were you already really strong or agile or tough before?
I am sure that you are aware that I was expecting
to compete in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney...

have missed the news. :)
I have always been an exceptional athlete since
I was young. It came from a desire to be the best and constant training
to be the best. I would have never accomplished so much if not for the
encouragement of my family and my sister Wendy, my coach.
What part, if any, did you play in the Y2K
effort?
My role in the Y2K effort was minimal. My powers
did not lend themselves to any of the greater problems, so myself and other
members of T2M Beta were used to provide high profile presence to help
calm and reassure the populace that everything would be all right and there
would be nothing to worry about.
What do you think the next year will bring
for Novas?
I am told that every year there will be more
Novas than the year before. With luck we will all be able to work together
to make the world a better place for everyone.
What about those Novas that don't sign on to
Utopia's goals?
Unfortunately there are those Novas with their
own agendas, just as there are people who have personal agendas not in
line with the rest of society. I take no issue with those Novas who do
not wish to aid Project Utopia so long as their own goals do not bring
them into conflict with ours. Any Nova who would raise themselves up at
the expense of ordinary people is a threat that will be dealt with accordingly.
In my personal opinion anyone who would abuse their gift of Nova powers
is the lowest of the low.
You have a pretty public identity, how has
your family handled the pressures of having a celebrity in the house?
As an outstanding athlete and Olympic hopeful
I have always had a high profile identity. My family has found that they
are bothered a bit more by the media, but they are more amused than bothered.
To them I am still the same person that I have always been. My family has
always kept me grounded as to who I am. No matter what happens or who I
am I will always be my mother's little boy. I will never forget where I
come from, because that is why I do what must be done.
What did you think of the recent efforts of
Project Utopia and your team's "War on Crime" here in New York? Were you
surprised by the declaration?
I was happy to help out in anyway that we could.
Organized crime has preyed on the everyday American and the underprivileged
for far to long. It was only right that we stepped in and came to their
aid.
So you see Novas as, dare I say it, saviors
of humanity?
It is our place to protect and serve. We have
been given a precious gift that can be used to right so many of the wrongs
that plague or planet, there is no other responsible way to use them then,
is there?
What was your role in the crime-elimination
effort?
I was responsible as team leader to coordinate
our efforts and see to it that each members powers were used to their full
advantage. I was also able to provide combat backup for the front-line
members of the team in hostile situations.
The big news was your recent raid on the meeting
with the mafia dons. The media have been giving some conflicting reports
of the events. Were you there? What was it like? What was your part?
I was there. Unfortunately we encountered some
mercenary Novas who thought to use their powers for self-profit and aggrandizement.
I am proud that we were able to bring them and the dons to justice with
a minimum of bloodshed and no deaths.
What do you think will happen as a result of
Utopia's latest project?
If you mean the efforts to clean up the environment
I know that they will be a resounding success. We have abused the planet's
environment for far too long. We must ensure that we will leave future
generations a clean and beautiful world in which to live.
No, but it's nice to hear. I meant the "crime
elimination effort."
We will put an end to those who seek wealth and
power at the expense of the health and well being of others. It is as simple
as that.

The 2000 election season is starting up, whom
are you planning on voting for for president?
It is not my place to tell people who to vote
for. I will only say that it is our right and privilege to vote on election
day. Vote your conscience and remember that generations of men and women
have given their blood, sweat and tears to ensure that we could live in
the greatest nation on the Earth.
Inspiring words. So you think our president
should inspire us to greatness and recall America's history and heritage?
Every generation of Americans should define what
it means to be an American during the time of their lives. While we must
recall our history and heritage, for they have shaped who we are, we must
look to the future rather than live in the past.

I cannot choose just one. I would have to say
Red, White and Blue.

What do you think of the action figures?
I guess some people are really into them. I have
to admit that the idea of seeing an action figure of myself seems really
silly. But like it or not I know that I am a role model now and anything
that I can do to encourage people to live better lives and love and protect
one another is the least that I can do. It is not my duty, but rather my
privilege. It is an honor to be able to serve the people of the world as
the leader of Team Tomorrow Beta.
